Dig wells is one of the most commonly used as a supplier of water originating from the layer of soil rnfrom the ground surface, which are close hence can be easily contaminated through seep. Water rnmay be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria, one of them is the bacterium Salmonella typhi rndisease cause typhoid fever. The transmission of the disease from water sources used, food or drink rnthat has been polluted by an agent of the virus. The aim of this research is to find out the presence rnof the bacterium Salmonella typhi on water of a well dug used by public around the banks of the rnriver village of a Candi Mulyo RT.05/RW. 02 sub-district jombang district Jombang.rnThe design of this research was descriptive. The population is all of the well dig in the Village rnTemple Candi Mulyo RT. 05/RW. 02 Jombang. The sampling technique used is a Sampling of rnsaturated. Using the sample as much as 7 wells. Bacterial examination done by microscopic rnexamination, biochemical tests and selective test.rnThe results showed that the bacteria were not found in Salmonella typhi dig water wells in the rnvillage Candi Mulyo RT. 05/RW 02. Jombang Regency Jombang District, but found the bacteria rnSalmonella sp in dig water wells have indicated that the wells are contaminated, which could lead rnto the incidence of a wide range of health issues for the community. Thus urged to the public to rnkeep clean and sanitary environment for the well in order to be protected from contamination.rnKeywords: Salmonella typhi Bacteria, dig water wells
