Checking serum glucose used as screening dibetes mellitus. Many people who checked into the rnhospital serum glucose to ensure that a person is affected by diabetes mellitus. But they never knew rnhow the checks carried out by officers of his laboratory, they always assume that the results are rnissued always accurate. The reality in the field so many error checks carried out by officers of the rnlaboratory for example delays the examination. Many factors affect the delay of examination such rnas damage to the tool, run out of the reagent and others. The purpose of this research is to analyze rnthe differences in meaning of serum glucose levels were examined directly and on hold for 1 hour. rnThis research is analytic. The sample in this research is the entire university students medical rnlaboratory level III STIKes ICMe Jombang. Data collection is done in two ways, namely rnexamination of serum glucose levels in the laboratory and using informed consent. Variable rnindependent are directly checked and that was delayed for 1 hour, and the variable dependent is rnthe glucose serum. Based on paired sampel t-test results of serum glucose levels were examined rndirectly and was delayed for 1 hours it brings value t calculate t values=18,592, and t table rnvalue=2,037. Because the value t calculate > t table then Hrn1 accepted and Hrn0 is rejected.rnConclusion of this research is a meaningful difference between the serum glucose levels checked rndirectly and was delayed for 1 hour. Therefore, to the recommended to any particular medical rnlaboratory to always give priority to the service of the patient.rnKey words : serum glucose levels, checks directly, checks delayed 1 hour
