MOTIVASI IBU HAMIL DALAM MELAKUKAN PEMERIKSAAN KADAR HEMOGLOBINrn(Studi di Desa Mayangan Kecamatan Jogoroto Kabupaten Jombang)

Maternal Mortality Rate is one of the important indicators of society health degree. The most frequent complication of postpartum hemorrhage was anemia. It is important to do check for anemia in pregnancy first visit. Checking and monitoring of pregnant mother with anemia were performed at least 2 times during pregnancy, that was trimester I and III. This study aimed to identify pregnant’s motivation in doing hemoglobin level check in Mayangan Village Jogoroto District Jombang Regency. Based on preliminary study conducted on May 21, 2014 to 10 pregnant’s consisted 9 pregnant’s who did not check their hemoglobin level.rnThe design of this study was descriptive. The population was all pregnant’s in Mayangan Village Jogoroto District Jombang Regency as many as 75 people. Sample was 63 people. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling. The instrument used in data collection was a questionnaire. The variable was pregnant’s motivation in doing hemoglobin level check. Data processing used editing, coding, scoring, and tabulating. The study was conducted on 15-20 June 2014 in Mayangan Village Jogoroto District Jombang Regency.rnBased on the study conducted in Mayangan Village Jogoroto District Jombang Regency showed that respondents who had strong motivation total 18 respondents (28.57%), moderate motivation was 13 respondents (20.64%), and weak motivation 32 respondents (50.79 %).rnThe conclusion of this study was the majority of respondents had weak motivation to do hemoglobin level check in Mayangan Village Jogoroto District Jombang Regency. Midwives are expected to do routine counseling, information and education about hemoglobin level check and complete the tool of hemoglobin level check.rnrnKeywords: motivation, pregnant’s, hemoglobin level checkrn
